Vocational Division

The FOUNDATION has created alliances with many entities and supported events that promote vocational training of people that have previously ignored or overlooked such as the physically handicapped and the deaf.

In 1994-1995, the FOUNDATION successfully placed 23 deaf persons in recycling companies such as Environmental Plastics of P.R. and Global Fibers. One such person, Miss Sarai Berrios was given the Employee of the Year Award by her employer.

SORDOS DE PUERTO RICO, the leading association for the deaf in Puerto Rico, presented the FOUNDATION with a gratitude award for its efforts during "Deaf Awareness Week" which was held from September 24 - 30, 1995 to bring attention and awareness to the plight of the over 60,000 deaf in Puerto Rico or about 2% of its population.
